As Partner-in-Charge of both the firm’s Not-for-Profit Services and Employee Benefit Plans Groups, Mitchell delivers 30 years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax consulting services to not-for-profit organizations and companies in need of retirement plan and employee benefits guidance. His broad list of clients range from social service agencies, to public charities and private foundations, health care organizations, and labor organizations. He has a sub-specialty expertise with agencies providing services to individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. In addition to assisting these organizations with their related employee benefit and pension plans (both defined benefit and defined contribution plans) he handles the audits of labor-sponsored, multi-employer plans. He possesses expertise in the New York State Consolidated Fiscal Report requirements, audits in compliance with OMB Circular A-133, and AHCF cost reports for health clinics. Most recently, he has spearheaded a proactive campaign to help companies with 403(b) plans prepare for new compliance requirements.
